Gaza rocket fired at southern Israel, is intercepted

Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired a rocket toward southern Israel early Saturday, the military said.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the projectile was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

Israel was examining whether the rocket was fired by Islamic Jihad operatives in response to the deaths of three Palestinians killed in a gunfight with Israeli troops early Friday in Jenin, the Walla news site reported without citing a source.
